Simply the Most Versatile Portable Choose between Batch or Wireless all in One Device Apex III A rugged water and dust-resistant hand-held terminal for the warehouse, medical, manufacturing and route automation environments. Product Overview The Apex III Portable Data Collector is a unique data-capture device that combines the low-price of a batch data collection terminal with the processing power and connectivity capability of a wireless data collection terminal. This combination enables a user on a limited budget to start their application in a batch environment and then seamlessly migrate later to wireless as the application justifies the additional investment for a wireless infrastructure. Unlike other hand held portable data terminals in this price range, the Apex III is an open system architecture that allows the user to reconfigure the Apex III in the field. There is no need to send the Apex III back to the factory for expensive, time-consuming upgrades. The user can add new functionality as needed in the field with a wide variety of off-the-shelf low-cost P.C. Cards as the customer's applications grow. Field Upgradeable The Apex III is the only device on the market that lets the user upgrade the terminal in the field from a Batch to a Wireless operation! This field upgrade eliminates - - Loss of Use - Shipping Costs - Factory Upgrade Charges - Obsolescent due to technology change The Apex III takes a giant leap forward in integrated terminal technology with the combination of ruggedness and custom configurability. Apex Program Generator A key factor in the utility of any terminal is the set of tools available for developing application programs, another area in which the Apex III excels. Applications on the Apex III can be created from scratch with any conventional DOS Executable programming languages such as C++ or BASIC. The Apex III also offers an "application generator" that even non-programmers can quickly master. Applications can now be created, simulated and debugged locally on the P.C. before they are actually downloaded to the Apex III.
