The scanning system of the TCM5440 is functionally identical to a one-line TV camera. There areno moving parts to wear out, break, or require adjustment.  The TCM5440 features a depth of field of over 3 inches, allowing for considerable flexibility in scanner and label positioning.  The compact design and convenient mounting of the scanner make it easy to install in tight quarters.  The scanner automatically reads and decodes UPC/EAN, Codabar, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, MSI/Plessey, 2 of 5, and Interleaved 2 of 5.  The advanced scanning system of the TCM5440 allows the scanner to read soiled and poorly printed bar code symbols, providing a higher level of data security.  The scanner may be configured to read bar code symbols using a choice of triggering methods; an external mechanical trigger or in the autotrigger mode.
